About Christine

Elevating Senior Living through Joy and Connection

Hi! I’m Christine Walters, and I believe laughter, presence, and connection are powerful tools for care.

I’m an Applied Improv Facilitator, Positive Approach to Care–informed trainer, and the co-founder of Yes And Care. I also founded ComedySportz Richmond in 1996, where my journey of using improv to help people communicate, connect, and grow truly began.

For decades, I’ve worked with individuals, organizations, churches, schools, and senior living communities, using improv not as performance, but as a way to help people feel safer, more confident, and more human with one another. Along with my business partner, Dave Gau, I co-wrote The Art of Yes And, and have developed multiple improv-based programs helping people build communication skills, confidence, and trust, including such programs as the high school LIFE program at the Virginia Rehabilitation Center for the Blind and Vision Impaired

My work with dementia caregivers is especially close to my heart. Through my experience as a Certified Nursing Assistant, activity programs for seniors,  and as a family caregiver, I’ve seen how much caregivers carry—and how deeply connection matters, even when words are hard to find. That lived experience shapes everything I teach.

I’m a certified Applied Improv Provider – Executive Level with CSz Worldwide and internationally certified by the Applied Improvisation Network. Today, I bring compassion, play, and practical tools together to help teams build resilience, deepen connection, and create joyful, supportive cultures where people feel truly seen and valued.
